Website tipster Dave Nevison selected two winners from three selections on Thursday and shares his best bets for the all-weather action on Friday.
The traditional Lingfield card on Good Friday this week features some seriously competitive handicaps during the afternoon, and I will be very happy if one of these can land one for us! Best of luck.
This seven-year-old doesn’t often get chance to run for this sort of prize-money but could run well here in a race that looks set to be run to suit his hold-up tactics.
Unusually in a staying handicap at this track, there looks to be plenty of pace on, and a few of these may find their stamina stretched.
After Winklevi returned to David Evans’ yard from Jersey, he was most consistent at a level not much lower than this and didn’t often get the fast pace he needs.
He will need to put a modest run last time behind him, but he has otherwise been pretty consistent, and is worth chancing at a price.
It has been a long time between drinks for this talented miler, but he looks like he might be primed to pay for a few at long last in this fiercely competitive handicap.
He ran his best race last season after a ten-week absence, so I am not anticipating a similar break to be an issue, and I am hoping it may be a positive.
The way David and Nic Barron’s runners have performed since Lincoln day is certainly very encouraging and On A Session ran well on his latest outing plus races off the same mark on Friday.
I am hoping he took a while to acclimatise to his new surroundings and could have a productive time in decent handicaps this spring.
He is now 4lb below the last mark he won off over this course and distance and certainly looked as though he was returning to form at Doncaster last time out.
George Boughey had the winner of the Nell Gwyn and one at Beverley on Wednesday, so the yard is unquestionably in form, and the trainer did well after getting this eight-year-old from Roger Fell as he won two races last summer.
Ben Curtis rode the selection at Doncaster and is back on board here, which is a positive, and his mount certainly has plenty in his favour to produce a bold show.
