Danny Tudhope awaits injury news after Newcastle fall

Danny Tudhope could require surgery after he sustained a broken collarbone at Newcastle on Thursday evening.

The well-regarded jockey was unseated two furlongs out from Belle Des Lawers, who suffered a fatal injury in a staying handicap on the all-weather Flat card.

Tudhope's agent Laura Way said: "He's going to James Cook Hospital (in Middlesbrough) to see what they are going to do with it.

"I think there are two schools of thought with a broken collarbone - either pin it or leave it - so we'll have to just see what they say.

"He's definitely broken it and he is very sore."
