Harry Derham has had a change of heart with
One Horse Town who will return to Cheltenham later this month.
The son of a Gimcrack winner in Threat, he has taken to hurdling brilliantly, winning all four of his outings to date.
He faced his stiffest test yet last time out at Cheltenham but rose to the occasion in winning a Triumph Trial and a similar test awaits on December 13.
“One Horse Town is going to run at Cheltenham in a couple of weeks,” said Derham.
“I thought, and I was anticipating, that Cheltenham in November would take a lot out of him but he has bounced out of it.
“I said to his owners that so often in training you are wrestling to get horses in good form. This horse is in good form so let’s go.
“I’m very aware that juvenile racing will get tougher and tougher as the season goes on when all the fancy ones come out in the spring.
“He’s in great form, he looks really happy and well, he’s a horse for now so let’s get on with it.
“I kept saying all summer he’s a fun horse but I said we’d run last time to find out how good he was and we still don’t know. I hope we still don’t know after his next race!”
