Catterick goes ahead following second inspection

Mon 12 Feb 2018

This afternoon's meeting at Catterick goes ahead after the track passed a second inspection.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham held an initial inspection at 8am, but that look proved inconclusive with a second check called for 10am.

Needham was able to give the go-ahead following that inspection and the ground is reported to be soft.

Tuesday's National Hunt meeting at Lingfield has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Officials at the course inspected conditions at 8am on Monday and reported the ground to be heavy with areas of standing water.

With further rain anticipated ahead of racing, the meeting has been called off.
