Australia option for Jack Nicholls following first Group winner

The Newbury victory was a first at Group level for the apprentice rider whose tally of winners has now reached 70, leaving him with 25 more victories before his 3 lb claim is eradicated. 

Nicholls told Luck On Sunday: "I didn't think I'd ever have a season like I have. I said to my agent at the start of the year that I'd like to ride my 5 lb claim out, and that was kind of my main goal. 

"So, once I got that ticked off, then there was a few other little things that I wanted to do; I wanted to get a Heritage Handicap winner, a winner at York and a winner at Chester, and we got them done.  

"My next thing was I wanted to ride in a Group or a Listed race, and for the opportunity to come along as a claimer, it was class, especially when she won." 

The three-year-old filly was beating older horses at the weekend, and may now - like her rider - have earned a crack at some bigger prizes abroad. 

Nicholls explained: "She was very good yesterday. She'd been very good at York when she posted an unbelievable time. I thought she was class yesterday. 

"I think the plan is maybe to go back to Dubai with her. Karl [Burke] mentioned there's a Listed race at Ascot for her, but she was racing out at Meydan at the start of the year, so I think the owners would be keen to take her back there. 

"I'm very grateful for the opportunities that the owners are giving me now, and for Karl and everyone putting their trust in me. If they want me to stay on her, then I'll go wherever she goes. 

"I spoke to the boss a couple of weeks ago, and he mentioned maybe going out to Australia for a little bit. That was before I won on her, and if she goes out to Dubai, hopefully there will be a little chance of me getting out there, but I'll just leave it up to the boss. He's been very good to me from the start of my claim up until now, so I'm just putting all my trust in him, and where he sends me is where I'll go."
