3.30 Pontefract: Coolree
This horse is dropping in class from a Class 4 to a Class 5 in accordance with the old theory that horse are better off carrying big weights in lesser races than low weights in tough races.
To add to that, Coolree comes here in good form after a couple of good efforts at Beverley on his last two starts.
He is a Beverley specialist but can transfer his talents to Pontefract dropped in grade.
4.00 Pontefract - Point Lynas
Point Lynas won this race two seasons ago and he looks poised to repeat the feat after running well to be fourth in a competitive handicap at York off a mark of 109.
He is the only horse in the race that habitually makes the running and at a track that suits such tactics, he has a significant edge on his rivals before the stalls even open.

4.30 Pontefract - Jez Bomb
Jez bomb is a very consistent operator and goes well at this track, as his last two performances show.
He won here two starts ago and was then unlucky to bump into one who was a good way ahead of his mark last time out.
He comes here in better form than his rivals and can take advantage of being that at a track that suits him.
5.30 Pontefract - Trilby
Trilby won in a fast time for the grade at Carlisle last time out and a 5lb rise for that success does not seem harsh.
P J McDonald is 3 from 7 when riding and he is on board once again.
Whilst he may be better suited to a stiff five furlongs, a likely steady gallop at six furlongs should be no problem this afternoon and he can win again.
