Angus McNae's top tips for Thursday: Vinnie can bounce back to form

I think there was a performance over Guineas weekend that has gone under the radar and that was On The Warpath’s victory in the 6f handicap on Sunday.
Charlie Appleby’s four-year-old running over the trip for the first time and he beat a strong field in a very fast time.
The decision to drop him in trip looks inspired and if he runs in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot, there is no other horse I would want to be on.

I was impressed with On The Warpath at Newmarket
He won at Newmarket off a rating of 102 and is set for a rise in the weights, but even off 108 or 109, I would be confident he could win a Wokingham because he showed at Newmarket that he is already a Group Class sprinter.
His pedigree and the way he moves, plus his early speed, means he may be equally effective on dirt and the Golden Shaheen on Dubai World Cup night could be an interesting early season target next year.
As ever, I have four selections for you this week - three from Chester and one at Chelmsford. Good luck.
This horse has won twice at Chester and gets to contest this handicap from stall one which is ideal for his prominent style of racing.
He had a tune up at Musselburgh recently where he finished fourth after lacking his usual early sharpness but still shaping as if he will be all the better for the run.
With that run behind him, a plum draw to attack and a liking for the track he should be backed at 11-4.
He is a stand out in this Listed Dee Stakes and, although he is going to be the favourite, I think he can win this with ease.
He was beaten just one length by the 2000 Guineas winner Magna Grecia in the Vertem Futurity at Doncaster last year and none of his opposition here can boast such good form.
He has a superb pedigree being by Galileo out of the very useful mare Duntle and has always promised to be a much better horse when stretched out over 10 and 12 furlongs.
I can see him winning easily here and putting himself firmly in the Derby picture.
Dr Marwan Koukash loves a winner at Chester and this horse has a great chance of fulfilling that dream.
He likes the track as evidenced by his two wins here last season and the reason he goes well here is that he has the ideal run-style for the track. He likes to bowl along in front and dominate races.
From stall one, he is ideally berthed to do just that here, and whilst his recent run at Doncaster hardly inspires confidence, this will have been his early season target.
There is some pace pressure in the race, but he holds the nap hand from his low draw.
I was impressed with this horse when he won here two starts ago and a recent unplaced effort at Pontefract is best ignored because he did not get a good trip.
He remains quite well handicapped on some of his old form and, in four starts here, he has never finished out of the first two.
I take him to bounce back to form here at a track and on a surface that really seems to suit him.
