There's a fabulous card at Leopardstown on Sunday with the past two Cheltenham Gold Cup winners crossing swords. Watch what happens live on Racing TV.
12.10 Leopardstown: Lazare De Star
Gordon Elliott has plenty of decent youngsters in his care and Lazare De Star could be another one.
He finished second to the potentially very useful Saint Baco on his debut over hurdles, pulling 18 lengths clear of the third.
He is stepping up four furlongs in trip here, which given his pedigree and the fact that he was placed in his sole start in points can only be a good thing.
The Elliott team continue to be in red hot form and Lazare De Star can keep him on a roll.
Kargese lets fly on her way to winning at Leopardstow non Saturday 1.20 Leopardstown : Soldier in Milan
Soldier in Milan won his sole start under Rules in a bumper and is immediately sent chasing by Emmett Mullins.
That bumper win was impressive, as was his wide margin win in on his only start in a point.
To pitch him in at this level on his chasing bow under Rules is indicative of how highly thought of he is, and the fact that he was heavily backed when winning his bumper is further evidence of the regard that he is held in.
1.55 Leopardstown: Ballyburn
Reverting to hurdles on his first start of the season saw Ballyburn narrowly touched off by Teahupoo in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle and I am taking him to reverse the form with that run under his belt.
Some of the Mullins horses have needed the run this season and although Ballyburn finished his race off strongly at Fairyhouse he was still a bit fresh and keen through the race.
Following that defeat he was installed as favourite for the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham and he can cement his place at the head of that market with victory here.
2.30 Leopardstown : Fastorslow
With a run under his belt this season, when third in the John Durkan at Punchestown, Fastorlow will have a race fit advantage over the returning Galopins Des Champs who is attempting to complete a hat -trick of wins in this race.
Fastorslow shaped like he needed the run in behind Gaelic Warrior at Punchestown over an inadequate trip but he did keep on relatively well in the closing stages.
The step back up to three miles looks sure to suit and in a race that eyes will be on many of the other runners he may slide under the radar.
